Once every year or so, I find it helpful to share a list of some of the podcasts, YouTube channels, and other media sources that I enjoy or find useful. This year, I’m also going to include a couple of “family favorites.”
I hope that maybe some of these are helpful for you too!
The venture started a few years ago by JD Flynn & Ed Condon when they left “traditional” Catholic media to start something new and more in-depth to serve the Church is, in my opinion, THE source of news, info, & analysis for the Church today. Those who join and support also get access to fantastic in-depth podcast/audio versions of their analysis and weekly chats between JD & Ed.
My friends Adam & David have been going strong for YEARS with their friendly banter and guests who bring advice and info to men seeking to grow in virtue and be good husbands and fathers.
Lay Catholic evangelists Michael Gormley and Dave VanVickle give solid inspiration and ideas for those of us in the trenches of evangelization. I end up with at least 2-3 notes out of every episode - either for work in evangelization, or my preaching or teaching.
The team of guys in Steubenville, OH producing New Polity produce some of the most philosophically- and historically- rich analysis of key issues and opportunities in modern society & culture. I pore over the magazine/journal every time it arrives, and enjoy the accompanying podcast (which builds on articles in the journal) in between issues.
Coming to a deeper understanding blood glucose and metabolism has been a key part of my health journey over the last year or so, as I’ve increased my activity and solidified a healthy diet - while working with my doctor to wean myself off of pharmaceuticals for high triglycerides and high blood pressure. The podcast from Levels is in-depth and excellent. It also ties into their excellent blog.
We watch a somewhat crazy amount of Disney Vloggers on YouTube as a family (it’s our “interesting” guilty pleasure). Among our favorites is Nate (“Mr. Morrow”). We just enjoy his friendly demeanor and positive spirit. We also find that of all the Disney Vloggers, he’s one of the ones whose food and other recommendations align the most with what we end up liking too. We were excited to run into and meet him when we were at EPCOT this last summer!

What do you think?
Do you enjoy any of these, or are you going to try any?
Or do you have any favorites that you think I should explore?
