Effective Date: February 2026 · Last updated: August 7, 2026

DeaconMichael.net is a personal website operated by Domus Formation, Inc. This policy explains how we handle your information.

What We Collect

When you subscribe to the newsletter:

  • Email address (required)
  • First name (required)
  • City or location (optional, used for timezone)
  • Birthday (optional, so I can pray for you and wish you happy birthday)

When you submit a prayer request:

  • Name, email, and your prayer intention

When you comment on a post:

  • Your comment content, linked to your subscriber account

When you visit the site:

We use Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. We see aggregate page views and referrers, not individual behavior.

How We Use Your Information

  • To send you the Wednesday @ Lunch newsletter (if subscribed)
  • To respond to prayer requests and contact form submissions
  • To display your first name and city on comments you post
  • To send you a birthday note (if you've shared your birthday)

What We Don't Do

  • We don't sell your information to anyone
  • We don't share your email with third parties for marketing
  • We don't use tracking cookies, and site analytics stay aggregate — see Email below for what we can see about messages we send you
  • We don't send spam - only content you've signed up for

Email

Emails are sent via SendLayer. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click using the link at the bottom of every message.

SendLayer tells us whether each email was delivered, and whether it bounced or was reported as spam. It also records whether a message was opened and whether a link in it was clicked — an opened email loads a small invisible image, and links pass through SendLayer on their way to the destination. We use this to see which writing is worth continuing and to stop emailing addresses that no longer work. We don't sell it, share it, or use it to build a profile of you, and turning images off in your email client prevents the open from being recorded.

Your Rights

You can request to see, correct, or delete your data at any time by contacting me at michael@deaconmichael.net.
