Battle of Lepanto Mosaic, Basilica of Notre Dame, Lyon, France
Our Lady of the Rosary
Today is remembered one of the most consequential naval battles in Western civilization, the Battle of Lepanto. Because of the role the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary played, through the praying of the rosary, the day was known as Our Lady of Victories. In recent years, it has become Our Lady of the Rosary.
Also: Pope Leo has asked the faithful to pray the rosary for peace in the world every day this month of October.
And Cardinal Burke invites us to pray the daily rosary in a nine week Novena starting tomorrow, leading up to the Centennial of Fatima on December 10. Read more.
